Basal dental implants are designed to attach to the basal part of the jawbone. Thanks to the technique of dental implants without sinus lift, there is no need for bone grafting or sinus lift. The 1-step treatment has a particularly good success rate since the risk of rejection (peri-implantitis) is reduced by the ultra-smooth surface of the basal implants. The success rate measured in Anveli clinics is 99,96% against 92% for traditional dental implants and 67% associated with bone grafts.
Almost all of her teeth are moving. Laura has suffered from periodontitis for several years which she tried unsuccessfully to treat. Teeth are still held in place by bridges that have repeatedly broken off and detached. Only a few molars are still well-anchored but do not allow a masticatory function. The fall of the teeth has led to a loss of jaw bone.
Her dentist offered her a sinus lift - type bone grafting since periodontitis caused significant bone loss in the sub-sinus tissues. The latter also informed her of the possibility of treating with basal implants.
Despite a very significant bone loss in the sinuses, dental implants without sinus lift (Basal implants) are placed. It was not necessary to perform a bone grafting or sinus lift ( sinus-lift). A total of 18 basal dental implants were needed to compensate for this lack of bone tissue. Smaller and thinner, they are less invasive and do not degrade bone tissue during drilling (drilling). Placement of the basal implants was performed by Prof. Ihde under general anesthesia during a dental surgery operation that lasted nearly 2 hours.
During the other 4 days, Dr. Shipitch took care of the design and fitting of the two fixed dentures on basal implants. The patient chose the 552 shape, and the A2 color for a more natural result. With dental implants without sinus lift and bone grafting, the prosthetic part plays a very important role in the success of the treatment since it ensures the distribution of the chewing forces.
Laura testifies after the completion of her dental treatment in Sofia, Bulgaria where she benefited from basal implants while she suffered from significant bone loss in the sinuses. Anveli team expresses its gratitude for her double testimony made after her surgery and during her check-up at our dental clinic in Switzerland.
