After treatment for periodontitis
Almost all of her teeth are moving. Laura has suffered from periodontitis for several years which she tried unsuccessfully to treat. Teeth are still held in place by bridges that have repeatedly broken off and detached. Only a few molars are still well-anchored but do not allow a masticatory function. The fall of the teeth has led to a loss of jaw bone.
Her dentist offered her a sinus lift – type bone grafting since periodontitis caused significant bone loss in the sub-sinus tissues. The latter also informed her of the possibility of treating with basal implants.
Placement of basal implants without sinus lift
Despite a very significant bone loss in the sinuses, dental implants without sinus lift (Basal implants) are placed. It was not necessary to perform a bone grafting or sinus lift (sinus-lift).
