Bone grafting is therefore used to reconstitute the jaw bone. The fixation of the bone is carried out by simple impaction in the case of chips or by one or more screws in the case of blocks. This screw will be removed during the placement of the dental implant or may remain in place if it does not interfere with the placement of the dental implant. Bone grafting does not have a good success rate and its use is therefore limited to specific applications.
