Placement and operation of the basal implant

The duration of the treatment for the placement of the basal implant and its fixed prosthesis takes upon 5 days. Unlike traditional dental implants, only one step is necessary. The loading of the basal implant is immediate and the patient can go home on the 7th day. During the dental treatment with the basal implants, 6 phases must be observed in order to guarantee the success of the treatment and to avoid any complications. Here is the classic course of the installation of basal implants and its prosthesis (bridge) fixed.

The consultation

The panoramic X-ray and the 3D dental scanner are carried out before the consultation allowing the digital reconstruction of the dento-maxillary arches. The treatment strategy, the size and the shape of the basal implant to be placed will be determined at this time by Prof. Ihde and his team.

The consultation with the dental surgeon (Prof. Dr. Ihde) will confirm the treatment plan. The appointment with the prosthetist will allow you to choose the aesthetics of the teeth. (Shape / color / size) .

When the patient wishes a general anesthesia or a semi-conscious sedation for the surgical phase of the placement of the basal implant, a consultation with the anesthetist makes it possible to check the compatibility of his state of health with the medication. The success of a basal implant depends above all on a correct diagnosis. Anveli Dental's preoperative service carries out a free expertise before the patient comes to one of the clinics, guaranteeing a minimum of change in treatment plan. morphological simulation enables high-quality, high-precision dental surgery.

Placement of basal implants

The surgical operation, which consists of placing the basal implants, begins with the extraction of the teeth. After a gingival plasty (treatment of the soft tissues avoiding the retraction of the gum) the dental surgeon places each basal implant at the locations predefined by the dento-maxillary study.

Basal implant under general anesthesia

The installation of the latest generation of basal type dental implants is a relatively painless but relatively long procedure. In order for it to take place under the best conditions, we offer general anesthesia or under unconscious sedation. Local anesthesia can be offered, but the noise and sight of dentists can be stressful for the patient.

Non-invasive dental implant

The basal implant is said to be minimally invasive because the perforation is carried out using a drill of barely one millimeter. This makes it possible to guide the basal implant which will then take its place naturally in the bone tissue. Its placement is painless, rapid and bloodless. Unlike the traditional implant, which has a very large borehole, it is not necessary to detach the gum in basal implantology.

Placement of the basal implant (BAx)

The basal dental implant (Strategic Implant®️), thanks to its elliptical shape will self-implant with a minimum of trauma on the bone tissue. On the same principle as a self-drilling screw, it will follow the micro-perforation which serves as a guide. If there have been no extractions, the gum does not present any postoperative lesions. If there has been extraction of the tooth, the implant will come s' implant in the dental socket.

In most cases, it is not necessary to detach the gum tissue. The basal implant reaches the second layer of the cortical bone (hence its name bi-cortical implant). Bone cortex is present everywhere, but it is found in larger quantities on the upper jaw, under the septum nasal and zygomatic zone (at the level of the wisdom teeth of the upper jaw). On the lower jaw, it is present mainly in the frontal zone.

Gum plasty

During the placement of the basal implant and to reduce the risk of resorption of the gingiva and that a vacuum is created between the bridge and the gum after the placement of the basal dental implant, a gingival plasty is performed (in case of extraction only). The dentist will accelerate the natural healing process by regularizing the post-extraction ridges through sutures. In this way, healing will reach 90% 48 hours after the extractions and the placement of implants. The gingival plasty is accompanied by a complete cleansing of the gum tissue and a curettage of any infections or periodontal pockets present.

For patients who already have a significant lack of gingiva the dental bridge may have a thin part of false gum (1mm ) perfectly imitating the natural gingiva in order to harmonize the connection between the bridge and the gingiva. It is with the dental technician that this question is raised on a case-by-case basis.

Placement of the fixed prosthesis

The fixed prosthesis on a basal implant plays a major role in the success of the treatment in basal implantology of last generation It is performed immediately after placement of the basal implant and must be fixed within 72 hours of the dental surgery operation The fixed prosthesis distributes the chewing forces over all the basal implants. the treatment depends to a large extent on the successful completion of fixed dental prostheses on a basal implant.

Impression taking and modeling

The measurements taken after the placement of the basal implant require great precision. During the hours following the operation, the technicians in our laboratories, using equipment such as a 3D scanner, carry out a modeling of the jaws in order to guarantee precise balancing of the occlusion.

Choice of shape and color of teeth

After choosing the color, size and shape of their future teeth, the patient is ready for the next step. The day after the basal dental implants are placed, the crowns are tested in the mouth. unique process developed by the International Implant Foundation allows the patient to judge in the mouth the future esthetic result of his teeth. Technicians and the dental technician can thus modify the shape, the size, the inclination and the placement of the teeth. according to the wishes of the patient and physiognomic constraints. It is only from the validation of the esthetics by the patient that the technicians of the laboratory begin the fabrication of the final bridge. 48 hours will still be necessary before the new teeth are ready.

This phase is an incredible advance in the prosthetic part of the treatment. Previously with the BioHPP, metal-ceramic or zirconia crowns the final result was a surprise at the end of the treatment. It was therefore very difficult, if not impossible to make modifications to the fixed dental prosthesis, except for light polishing.

Fixation of the prosthesis

After 3 tests and corrections and numerous precise measurements of the occlusion and the junction with the gingiva, the prosthesis is fixed on the basal implants. The patient can eat normally the same evening.
